A larger version of our currant scones, but more of a mouthful and a bit more filling.
Wonderfully moist, delightfully fruity and very buttery, these little currant gems are just wonderful served with piping hot tea or coffee on any morning, but especially on a Sunday morning, with no distractions of work, commuting or making deals, just quiet time when you can relax in bed and savor every morsel. Serve them as a dessert as well with a dollop of whipped cream and your favorite fresh fruit such as sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or any kind of fruit for a delicious treat.
These scones freeze well, so order an extra dozen to have around (frozen) just in case company comes and you have to share.
